Since our inception as a VoC agency, we’ve always been software buyers.

For years, that model worked perfectly for Watermelon. We brought in the best technical experts, the people who could push the limits of whatever tools we invested in, and together, we delivered incredible outcomes for our clients.

Happy customers and happy teams, without any of the hassle. Win–win.

But over time, something shifted...

The tools became more rigid, less flexible, and significantly more expensive. Our feedback and feature requests started disappearing into a development black hole, replaced by new add-ons that offered little real value to our clients, despite the ever-increasing price tag.

We couldn’t sit back and offer our clients a sub-standard service for a premium price. So, we evolved.

That’s what led to the creation of Canvas, a platform we simply couldn’t find in the market anymore.

After countless conversations with clients and other agencies, it’s clear we’re not alone in feeling this shift. And with the big providers continuing to merge and consolidate, things are only getting more rigid, less flexible, and more expensive.
